Essex County Council certified and approved Stock Brook Country Club to be used as a venue for the solemnisation of Civil Marriages under the Marriage Act 1994, Marriages (Approved Premises) Regulations 1995 on 7th February 2003. At each marriage ceremony a Superintendent Registrar and Registrar must be in attendance. The bride and groom or partnership must each give Notice of Marriage or partnership in the Registration District in which they live; notice cannot be given more than one year in advance or later than 15 days before the date of the marriage. In addition, you are advised that civil marriage ceremonies must contain no religious content. Any readings, words or performance prior to or during any part of the ceremony must be secular and require approval in advance from the Superintendent Registrar at Brentwood Register Office.
